The Tiffany CryptoPunk Collection

In a post on its website, the company said it plans to create what it calls NFTiffs. This is a collection of 250 NFTs, reserved for CryptoPunk holders.

Once you buy your NFT, you will be able to exchange it for a pendant made especially for you. You will also be allowed to keep the digital representation of it, in the form of NFTs.

The company said that these would be “designed and crafted by Tiffany artisans,” but would be inspired by CryptoPunk.

At Tiffany, rarity seems to be the main selling point. The company explained that

Only 250 NFTiff passes will be made available exclusively to CryptoPunk holders. No customer is allowed to purchase more than three NFTiffs. Buyers will have to purchase their NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.

As such, criticism has been rife following this announcement. Some denounce the fact that the company wants to ride the wave of NFTs and Cryptopunks. Others claim that CryptoPunks don’t need Tiffany to be immortalized.
