Like Kylian Mbappé, he naturally chose Sorare, the Fantasy Football game based on the Ethereum blockchain, to highlight his favorite sport which is soccer. Sorare has already tokenized his legend through a collection of trading cards that will delight fans and collectors. After showing you where to buy NFTs and how to get your first free NFT, it was only natural for Coinpri to take a look at Sorare.

Sorare, the most famous Fantasy Football game on the Blockchain

Sorare, the world champion of French entrepreneurship

Sorare is one, if not THE most well-known startup on the list of innovative French fintech companies in the blockchain world. With several fundraisings (the latest of which is 680 million euros) from Business-Angels tech, Bpifrance, other investment funds and venture capitalists, the company is now valued at over 4 billion dollars! But what is Sorare anyway?

Sorare, become the coach who will make your team win the UEFA!

Sorare is a Fantasy Football game that allows you to buy virtual cards to compose a small soccer team of 5 players among all the players in the world. You can choose a goalie, a defender, a midfielder, a striker and an extra (you can choose between defender, attacking midfielder or striker).

Why limit yourself in your choice when you can also take players from Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico and Juve? This list is not exhaustive, the majority of the teams of the world being represented. You want to stay in France? Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille will be able to play against Paris-Saint-Germain or the Principality of Monaco without any problem!

Not only will you be able to take on current players like Griezmann, Pogba, Neymar or Cavani, you will also be able to play with former players like Ribery, Maradona or Zidane! It’s up to you to go on the offensive and choose the players who will make the decisive passes to your striker in order to make a name for yourself on the pitch in the Champions League or at the Parc des Princes.

Collectible cards with high transfer potential

The 4 categories of Sorare cards

So how does this card system work? Well, the cards are divided into several categories of varying value to satisfy all fans.

The Limited cards in yellow, the Rare cards in red, the Super Rare cards in blue and finally the Unique cards in black. As you can imagine, the number of copies decreases according to the rarity of the card.

For example, the young prodigy Kylian Mbappé, considered by many as the best player of the PSG, has his Limited card in 1000 copies, his Rare card in 100 copies, his Super Rare in 10 copies and concerning the black card, if you have followed, it is unique! Each card has a bonus that affects the team’s statistics.

To make things a bit more complex, there are 5 divisions in the game. Their access is linked to the card categories.

The 5 divisions of the game

Limited cards give access to the 5th division, Rares to division 4 and 3, Super Rares give access to division 1, 2 and 3. Finally the Super Rare and Unique cards give access to division 1 and 2.

The objective of the game is to be the best in your division and to finish at the top of the leaderboard in order to get rewards in Ether and Sorare cards.

There are also rewards for the best players. All players have their place in the game, no need to buy trading cards: a collection is offered to you at registration.

If we lost you on the divisions, here’s a quick recap:

  • Division 5: only for “Limited” Edition player cards;
  • Division 4: for “Rare” player cards + 1 “Common” player card allowed;
  • Division 3: “Rare” player cards allowed + 2 “Super Rare” player cards maximum;
  • Division 2: for “Super Rare” player cards + 1 “Rare” player card allowed;
  • Division 1: competition for “Unique” player cards + 2 “Super Rare” player cards allowed.

Sorare: live the history of soccer by scoring your own goals

The card of the prestigious Ronaldo, the famous Portuguese striker and golden ball, was sold at 150 ethers (ETH) or about 290 000 dollars or euros. The euro/dollar parity being now acquired, thank you Christine
