After having made the community dream with mythical TotheMoon by creating a digital token that is deflationary with burns permanently, Shiba Inu, an altcoin ERC-20. Remember that this project is ranked by Certik as one of the most secure, just behind Polygon in first place. It is also ranked by Binance as one of the most sought-after cryptocurrencies on its platform in 2022 along with Bitcoin and Ethereum. The project returns with a game representing a universe based on the mythical Japanese dog: the Shiba Eternity game.

A game with trading cards or NFT?

While writing this article, I think of Sorare and you will immediately understand why. To play this game created by Playside studio and William Volk, it was basically planned to get the NFT Shiba Inu trading cards: the famous Shiboshis. A collection of 10,000 non-fungible tokens with laser eyes or festive hats in order to own a unique piece and represent the project in this field. The latter possessing various attributes usable in the game Shiba Inu Eternity and thus allowing to have special characteristics among the following five:

  • The lifepoints ;
  • The escape ;
  • The attack ;
  • Luck;
  • Skills.

These NFTs were to be sold on Shibaswap using the LEASH cryptocurrency, the game programmers wanted to focus on the community, the Shibarmy. But what about Shiba Eternity released on October 6, 2022?

The Shiba Eternity application

At the beginning, we find ourselves in a dojo, which serves as a didactic, a didactic rocked by our narrator, a certain Ryoshi, the Shiba master. After having enjoyed the nice sound effects, and having understood how the game works with its specificities and its quests to follow, you find yourself facing a menu with several headings:

  • The Decks: This is the set of your shiboshis cards with their characteristics of discipline, traits, powers and animation back cards when they are turned over. According to the specialties of combat your shiboshis have unique characteristics that will make the difference in battle.
  • The Shop: A store where you can buy improvements (classic or rare playing cards, kibbles, experience, and different packs)
  • Fights: To play and fight in order to accomplish the different quests.
  • Shiboshi: Allows you to create a shiboshi for 100 bones and to see all your playing cards and their characteristics.
  • The armory: You can forge your cards or burn them. The first one is used to improve the characteristics of the shiboshi and the second to destroy it.

Gameplay

You start the fight by flipping a coin to see who goes first and choosing your first 3 fight cards.

The goal is to fight between shiboshis using the cards and their different characteristics. With the cards, you can either attack the cards or attack the other shibushi. There are also shield cards that prevent you from attacking the shibushi directly.

I won’t tell you too much so as not to spoil the experience, but remember that at the end, victory is rewarded with XP points and kibbles. These are used to increase the rank of your Shibushi. The improvement of shiboshis is possible by unlocking particular features with the “Pure Fomo”. It is also possible to unlock dormant characteristics. The gameplay is very elaborate and can become very complex if you go to the end of the improvements and options.

Promises unfortunately not kept…

Although the game’s ratings are 4.9 out of 5 and the game has registered over 100k downloads, the fact remains that the game’s developers had committed to several things:

  • The game was to allow burning Shiba Inu tokens;
  • To be linked with Shibaswap to allow users to get NFTs usable in the game.
  • To find these nfts on Shibaverse in a near future.

For the moment, nothing, NADA. The deadlines for the creation of the game were perhaps too short and the ambitions have been revised downwards. Perhaps they will be incorporated in a future update, or in a Shiba Inu Eternity 2.

The Shiba Inu ecosystem continues its development efforts with constant positive announcements, such as the most used smart contract by whales at the time of this article. We are waiting for the Shiberse to complete it and to continue to innovate it. A small thought also for the dog Kabos, at the origin of the same Shiba who is very sick.
