34% of Crypto Investors are in fact Women!

According to a study conducted by investment company eTORO in Q4 2022, women make up 34% of the crypto ecosystem. This is a significant increase from previous quarters’ statistics. The study also reveals that the crypto bear market of 2022 really didn’t deter investors. However, older investors were very nervous about the crypto bear market compared to younger investors.

Crypto is 34% owned by women

More and more women are becoming interested in cryptocurrencies and investing in the sector. That’s one of the findings of a survey of 10,000 crypto investors from 13 countries across 3 continents conducted from December 14 to 24, 2022 by social investment network eTORO.

According to eTORO’s study, 34% of crypto holders in the fourth of 2022 were women. Admittedly, this is less than men, but it is interesting to note that the proportion of female holders is steadily growing. In fact, in Q3 2022, women represented only 29% of crypto investors according to eTORO. In Q1 and Q2, they accounted for 24% and 25%, respectively.

With this performance, crypto is now the most owned asset class by women after cash makes eTORO aware. This suggests that the cryptocurrency ecosystem is attracting more women than traditional financial markets.

67% of investors still believe in crypto despite Bear market

The eTORO study also informs that, for the most part, the bear market has not shaken investors’ confidence in crypto. When asked what impact the bear market has had on their state of mind, 67% are either positive or indifferent. Only 33% of investors have lost confidence in crypto due to the bear market.

However, it should be noted that investors react differently to the crypto bear market depending on their age. With 67% of investors optimistic, the youngest investors (18-34) are very positive about the crypto market downturn. As age advances, skepticism about the bear market increases according to eTORO. For example, optimism about the bear market that was 67% among the youngest has dropped to 63% for investors aged 35 to 45, 50% for investors aged 45 to 54 and 32% for those over 55.

For many crypto investors, 2022 was the first major bear market. This bear market has undoubtedly created panic, but not despair among investors (male and female). This is noticeable both in the use of crypto in eCommerce and in the influx of new investors. We can’t say it enough: the crypto bear market is not as bad as it is presented. It’s a great time to stock up on cryptos to better take advantage of the upcoming bullrun. This is obviously not an investment advice.
